I am going to ask you a simple question!
What in this world is actually for free?
Breathing !!!
Reading a book isn’t breathing though. And just like the other paid activities you do, reading requires good money.
If simply want an environment for studying or reading, you may need to know that there are potential areas where reading will COST YOU.
With that being said, no one is asking you to stop reading.
How can you live that way?
But this is also true that some form of reading may take you to a place where your wallet may not be happy.
Any project requires money. Now that you are successful in life (or that you are trying to be), reading is important.
But things have changed in recent years, which made reading, not just a habit we are ignoring, but a wonderful activity we are simply ignoring.
And with that, we are not creating efforts to make it as cost-effective as we made other things in life to be.
Why reading is costly then?

I finished reading an article on very bad credit loans with no guarantor and no broker a year ago in the same state of mind that you are probably in right now.

- You Need Physical Space to Read Books
Trust me, if you are like me, who is going to prefer reading more than doing other activities, then you need some space for books.
Let me explain it to you in a simpler way.
Reading the first Harry Potter Novel will hardly make you put it down and not want the next instalment.
When I read The Hobbit, I thought to myself that I don’t really need to finish The Lord of the Rings Series.
But I take my words back.
Books can be as addictive as Netflix.
And if you are into a serious reading habit, chances are you are going to buy books after books.
They are more relaxing than binging and can be a good way to learn new things too.
I learnt some mathematical card magic tricks from a book my dad gave me when I was young and, just with the knowledge I gained from books, I was able to hold the attention of a few visitors in the supermarket for a full 10 minutes.
Apart from that, I can tell you that I almost have to read books as I am an entrepreneur.
And, for that, I need to make myself a bookshelf…at least a small storage unit for keeping books.
That does need money….even if your parents had made one for you it needs maintenance, right.
2. Books Are Insanely Priced
Even in an age where books are not so popular anymore as you have got a 5 to 6-inch tablet-shaped device called the Smartphone, books are pretty insanely priced.
And you cannot blame the manufacturers, can you?
They might as well are looking for securing the best profit by selling one book rather than waiting to sell a lot of them because that is pretty challenging these days.
However, paper-made books need to be bought wisely too.
You can go ahead to an old book store or some sales programs but you may not get the book in the condition you want.
I paid a good amount for one of my favourite comic books and I found the last page missing. It has been a book of Asterix.
No offence to those who sell them, old books are meant to be, of course, old.
But the new ones?
They are priced so high that you would rather think of buying a healthy sandwich on your way home and watching the film inspired by that book.
A habit that we do most often as an excuse to avoid reading!
With all due respect to the busy professionals, that’s wrong!!!
Instead, you can look for buying a new book by comparing prices from different publishers. Again, you have to compromise the content too if there is graphic content included (like comic books or books with illustrations etc)
3. You Have to Maintain that Bookshelf…and the Books
Books are not abstract when you are speaking of ‘real books, right?
They are susceptible to damage such as loosening of the pages; wear and tear…
Stains….
Discolouration….
Termites!!!
And a lot…
To maintain books, you need to invest some good money.
You can make a closed bookshelf or invest money in termite repellent spray (it will run out anyway and you need to keep on buying new ones) or can choose binding your books for offering them a long-lasting life.
And that means expenditure…, which is okay if you are okay with it!
But most readers are not!
You might as well belong in this group like I am.
And so, we will look at the solution.
To Conclude: Invest in an Ebook Reader Device or App
You don’t need a lot of money for that.
Let’s say you purchased Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite or Kindle Oasis with a simple payday loan from a direct lender in the UK.
And now you can literally enjoy thousands of books in your Ebook reader for free.
Look, I know it is an electronic device and that it does not give you that proper reading experience you get from a physical book.
Or that smell of new pages…(which will get old)…
But in an economically challenging time like this, it still matters right?
What you can do here is that you can still purchase a hard copy of our favourite book and keep it to yourself for a more personal reading experience (you know what I mean).
The rest of the work – leave it to the digital.
They don’t need that maintenance or huge storage space.
You can carry hundreds o them with you.
And you get a good many of them for free.
Now that you have just known something about frugal reading (I hope I am correct in saying it in that way), you can enjoy more books.
